Description
The stratigraphic sequence of the Quaternary and Tertiary to be found above the Gorleben salt dome and in its environment, forms an acquifer system with a thickness of up to 280 m. Under the Gorleben Hydrogeological Investigation Programme, between 1979 and 1984 more than 320 groundwater measuring points were drilled over an area of about 300 km2 at the various horizons of the caprock and in the adjacent peripheral sinks of the salt dome, to obtain the completest possible knowledge. In the course of the said programme, hydrochemical field investigations were performed. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Die ueber dem Salzstock von Gorleben und in dessen Umgebung verbreitete Schichtenfolge des Quartaers und Tertiaers bildet ein bis zu 280 m maechtiges Aquifersystem. Um moeglichst lueckenlose Kenntnisse zu gewinnen, wurden im Rahmen des Hydrogeologischen Untersuchungsprogrammes Gorleben von 1979 bis 1984 auf einer Flaeche von ca. 300 km2 ueber 320 Grundwassermessstellen in den verschiedenen Horizonten des Deckgebirges und in den angrenzenden Randsenken des Salzstockes niedergebracht. Im Zuge dieses Programmes wurden hydrochemische Untersuchungen im Feld durchgefuehrt. (orig.)
