Effect of zirconium on the structure and mechanical properties of complex alloyed magnesium base alloys

Description

The effect of zirconium on the structure and mechanical properties of complex-alloyed magnesium alloys has been investigated. The distribution of the alloying elements in structural components has been studied. A possibility was shown for increasing mechanical properties of the complex-alloyed magnesium-based materials resulting from additions of zirconium in the range from 0.5 to 0.66%. The addition of zirconium to the highly-alloyed materials of the Mg-Y-Zn-Nd-Cd system does not produce an increase in their mechanical properties
