Analysis of Japanese energy demand structure based on 'the current survey of energy consumption'
Description
This report analyzes the energy demand structure in Japanese industrial section based on the statistical data from 1981 to 1991. The features of this report are to analyze much deeper into the step of final uses. The results show that at most of energy demand sectors the energy consumption ratio of heavy fuel oil has decreased and the energy consumption ratio of light fuel oil, LPG, coal and city gas have increased. These changes were due to the increase of coal consumed as the boiler fuel and to the increase of light fuel oil and LPG consumed for direct heating and other usage. The substitution of oil by other fuels has considerably spread, but the further substitution is considered doubtful, because the change to coal from oil comes near its limit at the final uses and further more the expansion of gas pipe lines is indispensable for much consumption of natural gas.
