Description

A gamma-ray spectrometer with Nal (T1) detector is installed and calibrated to be used for different measurements where the gamma flux and energy distributions have to be known. The gamma-spectrometer has been calibrated using gamma-rays of different energies from standard sources of 60Co, 137Cs and 22Na and activated foils of 116Inm and 198Au. These sources were used to determine the spectrometer linearity and energy resolution as a function of gamma energy. The standard sources of 60Co, 137Cs and 22Na were also to check the spectrometer energy scaling. The obtained results show that the installed gamma-spectrometer has the main features and characteristics for gamma spectroscopy with are required for many applications where the spectrometer efficiency is of prime importance and the energy resolution is the second
