Description
NOMAD is a neutrino oscillation experiment designed to search for ντ appearance in the CERN-SPS wide band νμ beam. The sensitivity to oscillation parameters, after two years of data taking, is expected to reach a mixing of a few 10-4 down to squared mass differences of 40 eV2. Signal detection is based on the selection of ντ charged current interactions via kinematical criteria. After the completion of the detector in 1995 the experiment has been successfully taking data in 1995 and 1996. Its performances, studied from our 1995 data simple, are in good agreement with our expectations. (author)
