Assessment of the neutron leakage spectrum of an enhanced radiation warhead for peaceful applications
Description
The spectrum of the neutrons leaking from an enhanced radiation warhead is assessed based on a simple model. The burnup efficiency of the fusion fuel (Li2DT) and the fuel compression factor are varied as parameters. The compression profile is assumed to be linear. The resulting total energy of the leaking neutrons varies between 13.5% and 42.3% of the total warhead energy released. The maximum value (42.3%) is reached at a high burnup efficiency (100%) and a low compression factor (10). (orig.)
Abstract (German)
(orig.)Additional details
