Massless neutrinos in left-right symmetric gauge models

Description
It is shown that the simultaneous requirements of massless neutrinos, no massless quarks and suppression of strong CP-violation in strictly left-right symmetric models based on the gauge group anti G = SUsub(2,L) x SUsub(2,R) x U1 lead to unacceptable quark mass spectrum. Possible ways out are indicated by relaxing one of these conditions. (author)
