A measurement of B baryon lifetime
Creators
Description
In a sample of 450,000 Z0→q bar q events collected with the ALEPH detector at LEP, the average lifetime of b baryons has been studied. The signal is isolated using Λ-lepton correlations in semileptonic decays of b baryons, and the lifetime of the b baryons is extracted from the lepton impact parameters. The lifetime of b baryon is measured to be 1.12-0.29+0.32(stat) ± 0.16(syst) ps. Updated results using data recorded in 1992 with a silicon vertex detector shall also be presented
