Description

The Nuclotron superconducting synchrotron is commissioned; the nuclotron can accelerate protons up to the energy of 12.8 GeV and heavy ions - up to 6 GeV/nucleon (Z/A = 0.5). A general description of the system of slow beam extraction from the nuclotron is given and the results of numerical simulation of electric and magnetic fields of the basic elements of the extractor are presented: electrostatic and magnetic septums (Lambertson superconducting magnets). 5 refs., 9 figs., 1 tab
