Description
A method of searching for halogenated organic compounds (RCl, RBr and RI) in environmental samples (soils) is presented. The method involves extraction with hexane and detection of halogens by neutron activation analysis. Detection limits are about 1 microgram per gram of soil (1 ppm) for chlorine and about 0.1 ppm for bromine and iodine. (author)
