NAL 30-inch bubble chamber-wide gap spark chamber hybrid system
Description
The physical characteristics of the Experiment 2B hybrid spectrometer now operating at NAL, consisting of the 30-inch bubble chamber and four wide-gap optical spark chambers, is described. Details of the equipment and operating conditions are presented. Further details of track reconstruction and bubble chamber/spark chamber hookup software are presented, along with results for 15 to 300 GeV/c tracks. The detection of multi-gamma-ray events (up to six gamma-rays) is discussed. (U.S.)
