Description

Die als monolithisch beschriebene Natur des Integral Block Brennelementes wird selbst bei idealer Gleichmäßigkeit der Graphiteigenschaften dadurch gestört, daß es durch ein regelmäßiges Muster von Brennstoffzonen - verpreßt oder in Bohrungen eingefügt - und Kühlkanälen durchsetzt ist. Die Aufgabe des Brennelementes, Wärme zu erzeugen und an das Kühlgas abzuführen, erzwingt starke Temperaturgradienten zwischen Brennstoffzonen und Kühlkanälen, die wiederum Spannungen verschiedener Art im Graphitkörper erzeugen. Die Kenntnis dieser Spannungen, vor allem der lokalen Spannungsspitzen, ist für die Beurteilung der Überlebenschancen eines Brennelementes im Reaktor äußerst wichtig.Files
