Clinical practice guidelines for chronic venous disease: application in Costa Rica, management in Hospital San Juan de Dios

A guide was realized for medical professional about the diagnosis and treatment of chronic venous disease (CVD). The guide was based on the latest scientific evidence from Europe, Mexico and the United States. The different diagnostic methods such as imaging techniques for CVD were explained. Endovenous and hybrid treatments were developed for the management of superficial and deep venous disease. Some treatments such as radiofrequency ablation, endovenous laser, sclerotherapy, etc. were described. The recommendations were specified to use the diagnostic and treatment procedures in appropriately CVD patients The guide was standardized for the management of venous pathology at the level of Costa Rica and Latin America
