Description

Magnetic lattices with an inhomogeneous magnetic field in bending magnets are usually designed for compact storage rings. There is a lack of information concerning the use of lattices containing a homogeneous field in bending magnets. The basic features are investigated of a simple magnetic lattice module consisting of a homogeneous field bending magnet and two quadrupoles. For such a module the area of stability and the behavior of the β and η functions were evaluated for both horizontal and vertical planes. The applicability of such modules in building compact storage rings is shown. (author). 6 figs., 11 refs
