Capacity mechanism: we're off for more flexibility
Creators
Description
As the capacity mechanism has been partly modified by the European Commission to enable a valorisation of megawatts produced and consumed by producers and industrials, this article addresses its implications for peak management and for the integration of renewable energies. It outlines the complexity of this mechanism (the different reserve mechanisms and some basic rules of the capacity management are presented), and notices that new stakeholders and actors therefore emerge on this new market of demand flexibility
