Dynamic penetration of potential barriers in garnet films
Description
Propagation of bubble domains by means of sequentially pulsed pairs of current conductors provides convenient wall-state discrimination by means of deflection angle. Under certain drive and bias conditions, the final bubble position is found to overshoot the potential minimum located near the pulling conductor. This unexpected result is found to be associated with localized bubble stripe-out along the edge of the pulling conductor. Drive-pulse fall time is found to be critical, with no overshoot occurring for fall times in excess of 10 μs. Experiments were done on an LPE film of nominal composition Eu0.65Y2.35Fe3.8Ga1.2O12.
