Description
The ion collection from a plasma produced between parallel plates by a pulsed laser was simulated with a two-dimensional numerical code. The trajectory and velocity of ions are calculated by Newton's equation of motion in the electric field which is obtained by Poisson's equation and the Boltzmann relation for electrons. The simulation results agreed with experimental results. This shows that this code can be applicable to predict the behavior of the ion collection from the laser induced plasma. (author)
