Description
In this chapter, experiments on the electron-phonon interaction in Chevrel-phase compounds (CPC) and a theoretical discussion of their results will be presented. We will particularly discuss measurements of the isotope effect and tunneling spectroscopy experiments. These investigations have been performed in order to obtain information about the strength of the electron-phonon interaction in CPC, and to answer the question of whether there are phonon modes that couple particularly strongly to the electrons in these compounds.
