Ion accelerators and related activities at IUAC Delhi
Description
Inter Universities Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi has ion accelerators capable of delivering variety of beams having energy range of a few keV to hundreds of MeV. The 15UD Pelletron has been operational since 1990 providing beams to researchers from different fields of science. A large number of experiments were performed for investigation of various aspects of nuclear structure using Indian National Gamma Array (INGA) Facility at IUAC during the last year. The superconducting Linear Accelerator (LINAC) has been used recently to provided high energy beams continuously for around six months for nuclear physics experiments in beam hall II. The high current injector (HCI) program has also progressed very well and soon an independent LINAC operation with HCI will start
