Description

The quark distributions in the nucleon which measure isospin breaking are estimated in quark models and then evolved to experimental energies. The difference dp(x)-nn(x) is roughly (2-3)% of dp(x). Surprisingly, up(x)-dn(x) is only half as large. These distributions produce an error of 0.002 in the value of sin2 θw extracted from neutrino scattering unless they are taken into account. (orig.)
