Monitoring systems on radioactive waste disposal sites and in their environment

Description

Monitoring systems are discussed installed on radioactive waste disposal sites and within a 10 km distance from the sites. Monitored are surface earth of transport roads, ground earth, surface and ground water, air in the vicinity of the site, dry land and aquatic vegetation and animals. Radiation loads are studied of personnel handling radioactive wastes. Possible danger to the environment due to the release of radioactive wastes via ground water is discussed. 137Cs and 90Sr are considered to be critical radionuclides. (H.S.)
