Cryogenic irradiation facility URAM-2 for experimental study of hydrogenous materials

Description
Exposed unit URAM-2 of the IBR-2 reactor and results of experiments conducted on the investigation into the behaviour of ice, water, solid methane, aromatic hydrocarbons and other substances under the effect of fast neutrons and γ-radiation are described. Intensity of buildup of energy in these materials under irradiation as well as amount of accumulated hydrogen and temperature of its yield from matrix of materials are determined, recommendations on working temperature for the pointed materials during their application in cold moderators of neutrons are given

Описаны облучательная установка УРАМ-2 реактора ИБР-2 и результаты проведенных на ней экспериментов по изучению поведения льда, воды, твердого метана, ароматических углеводородов и других веществ под воздействием быстрых нейтронов и γ-излучения. Определены интенсивность накопления энергии в этих материалах под действием облучения, а также количество накопленного водорода и температура его выхода из матриц материалов, даны рекомендации по рабочей температуре для указанных материалов при их использовании в холодных замедлителях нейтроновAdditional details
