Relationship between the rate constants of Ps conversion reactions promoted by 3d complexes in high and low spin configurations

  • 1. Politecnico di Milano (Italy). Ist. di Ingegneria Nucleare

Description

It has been shown that the rate constants of o-Ps into p-Ps conversion reactions caused by high spin complexes of VII, CrII, CrIII, MnII, CoII and NiII ions are linearly correlated with the electron delocalization of metal ions promoted by the ligands. The extension of these correlations to low spin complexes of CrII, MnII and CoII ions is here described and discussed together with the spin statistical factors in conversion reactions promoted by para-magnetic 3d complexes with S = 1/2 and S > 1/2.
