Description
The structural perfection and chemical homogeneity of Cdsub(x)Hgsub(1-x)Te single crystals were complexly investigated. The crystals were grown by the method of fast cooling after the synthesis, high-temperature recrystallization, zone melting and Bridgman method. The Berg-Barret variant of X-ray topography was used. To interpret structure defect images on topograms, selective etching, raster electron microscopy and electron-probe roentgenospectral microanalysis were also used. Images of non-diffracting areas were revealed on topograms. The qualitative interpretation of this phenomenon was given from the point of view of the theory of X-rays scattering by single crystals. It was shown that non-diffracting areas were caused by a high level of matrix plastic deformation. Reasons for the occurence of these regions in Cdsub(x)Hgsub(1-x)Te single crystals were indicated
