Description
Nonlinear dynamical characterizations of the edge plasma fluctuations measured by both Hα-light diagnostic and Langmuir probes in ASDEX are presented. The edge plasma fluctuations are stochastic rather than chaotic, they have a higher-dimensional structure in phase space. In time, the edge turbulence is found to have memory properties, the time required to lose the memory is different in the different cases. (orig.)
