Shielding measures of photo-electrical receiving system of X-ray flash radiography in the surroundings of 252Cf radiation

Description

The integrative shielding system based on boron polyethylene, lead and lead glass is designed and esta blushed for the effective use of the photo-electrical receiving system of high energy X-ray flash radiography in the surroundings of 252Cf radiation. The theoretical analysis indicated that the influence of typical research levels of radiation relative to the noise of the charge-coupled device (CCD) camera was small when suitable shielding measures were used. The experiments based on this theoretical analysis indicate that the background gray scale noise due to the radiation in the CCD camera is less than the inherent background noise of the scientific-level CCD. The ratio of the white-dot noise that is created by radiation directly in the CCD chip is about 1 pixel/104 pixels, so the imaging quality can be ensured. (authors)
