Quality-assuring measures in the conditioning of wastes from nuclear power plants

Description

All waste treated by GNS is registered in a standardised documentation since mid 1988. This registration of production data contains a description of the changes to the waste brought about by the the conditioning. It also comprises all relevant data on physical and chemical treatment, mixing or blending with other waste in order to produce an intermediate product or a product suitable for final storage. This documentation also includes the casks necessary for packaging waste. The registration of production data contains all entrance and exit controls important for the balancing of the waste flow. The balancing is performed after completion of the respective lot. (orig.)
