The first experience with the use of thermoradiotherapy for the treatment of squamous cell carcinoma of the anal canal

Description

The method for treatment of planocellular cancer of anorectal zone is developed. the impact of radiotherapy and chemotherapy is strengthened by application of medicators-local SHF-hypothermia with simultaneous radioprotection of healthy tissues. The methodology is tested on 9 patients with planocellular cancer of and canal. The preliminary results of using the above methodology indicate good endurance of treatment by patients. It makes it possible to conduct sphincter treatment of the majority of patients and get rid of disabling operations

Abstract (Russian)

Разработана схема лечения плоскоклеточного рака аноректальной зоны. Действие радиотерапии и химиотерапии усиливается применением модификаторов - локальной СВЧ - гипертермии с одновременной радиопротекцией здоровых тканей (использование антиоксидантов). Методика опробирована на 9 больных плоскоклеточным раком анального канала. Предварительные результаты применения данной схемы терморадиохимиотерапии показывают хорошую переносимость лечения больными, она позволяет провести сфинктеросохраняющее лечение у больных и избавить их от калечащей операции
