Description
This paper summaries two research results about application of traveling wave reactor (TWR) concept. One is to apply this concept with radial and serial fuel shuffling for an accelerator driven transmute r (ADT), where the reactor core is subcritical and used for the minor actinide (Ma) transmutation purpose. The other is to search possibility of realization of TWR concept by a boiling water type reactor with axial fuel shuffling or axial power drift. For both studies we have achieved positive results, which are important for sustain-ability of nuclear energy. (Author)
