Sensitivity analysis of different reactor calculational methods and models

  • 1. Nuclear Power Plant Authority, Cairo

Description

Design and operation of nuclear reactors require the knowledge of the conditions under which a reactor will be critical; as well as: the degree of sub/or super criticality changing these conditions. A generic lumped model that can be considered as a frame including different calculational models is presented. The model was tested successfully on some sample problems. Different assumptions and approximations were implemented in order to study their effects on the accuracy of calculations through the use of error maps. Sample of the results obtained is presented
