The prognostic analysis of craniospinal axis irradiation of 14 patients with cerebellar medulloblastoma

Objective: To analyze the treatment results of craniospinal axis irradiation for 14 patients with cerebellar medulloblastoma retrospectively, explore its efficarcy and key radiotherapy technique. Methods: The 3 years and 5 years survival rate and local control rate of 14 patients with pathological confirmation and surgical resection between July, 1996 and March, 2004 after craniospinal axis irradiation were analyzed. Results: The 3 years and 5 years survival rate of all patients were 69.64% and 61.45% respectively, the local control rate 61.90% and 61.90% respectively. Conclusion: The 3 years and 5 years survival rate and local control rate of 14 cerebellar medulloblastoma patients after surgery and craniospinal axis irradiation are satisfactory for their light side effects.
