Analysis of energy storage and extraction in TEA UV-preionized CO2 laser amplifiers

Description

On the basis of the very often used fivetemperature model, the full mathematical description, which permits to evaluate the fundamental electric and laser parameters of CO2 amplifier, is presented. A rather good agreement between the computed and the measured results is obtained. The performed analysis of the influence of the parameters of the electric circuit on the fundamental laser parameters of the amplifier, shown that an increase of the small signal gain coefficient go can be obtained by increase of voltage and capacity of the supply system. The efficiency of the amplifier behaves in a reverse manner, an increase of g0 lead to the little decrease of η. The theoretical analysis and the measurements were performed for two compsitions of the active CO2:N2:He mixture -1:1:8 and 1:1:4. 16 refs., 12 figs. (author)
