Setting of the Dartmoor Granite as an environment

Significant uranium occurrence has not been reported from the Dartmoor Granite of southwest England, but the composition and setting of the granite are analogous to environments of uranium deposits elsewhere. Landsat studies suggest that east-west structures were the dominant structural features, open as pathways for hydrothermal fluids, during the period of regional mineralization. Such structures contain vein deposits of tin and related metals throughout the region, and would be logical loci for concentrations of any uranium which also may have been mobilized. It is suggested that certain sets of interpreted linear features are related to Hercynian folding, and that others are related to extensional stress following the Hercynian event
