Method and device for processing aqueous effluents containing tritiated water, electrode used in that device and its fabrication process
Description
In this process an electrolyte, such as sodium hydroxide, is added to the effluent and the solution is electrolysed to obtain gaseous tritium. The electrolytic cell includes a cathode made with a metal facilitating tritium diffusion, e.g. Pd-Ag alloy. The cathode constitutes a separation wall between the electrolysed solution and a compartment where tritium is recovered after diffusion through the cathode. Application is made for tritium recovery in effluents coming from spent fuel reprocessing

Selon ce procede, on ajoute aux effluents un electrolyte tel que la soude, puis on soumet la solution obtenue a une electrolyse afin de liberer du tritium a l'etat gazeux. On opere dans une cellule d'electrolyse comportant une cathode en metal capable de favoriser la diffusion du tritium, par exemple en alliage Pd-Ag, cette cathode constituant une paroi de separation entre la solution a electrolyser et un compartiment de reception du tritium, puis on recupere dans le compartiment le tritium qui a diffuse au travers de la paroi de la cathode.
