Nucleon-nucleon physics at intermediate energies
Description
The current status of nucleon-nucleon elastic and inelastic scattering up to 1 GeV is reviewed. Elastic data are now almost complete, but the physics interpretation lags behind. Data on pp → π+d are likewise almost complete, and have a simple interpretation. Data on the spin dependence of NN → NNπ are just beginning to appear. They have an important bearing on the major outstanding issue of whether or not dibaryon resonances exist. (author)
