Description
Inelastic scattering of protons on 28Si leading to the 6-, T=1 state at 14.36 MeV was studied using polarized protons at 198 MeV and the data on cross section, analysing power and spin transfer compared with DWIA calculations in which distorted waves were constrained to reproduce cross sections and analysing power data for elastic proton scattering on 28Si, the transition form factor was adjusted to reproduce transverse inelastic electron scattering data. The purpose of this contribution is to outline an irreducible tensor approach to discuss the inelastic scattering process
