Description
A new wheat variety Xifu No.9 was obtained by combined treatment of 60Co-γ ray and soaking seed in solution of gibberellin. The variety has characters of short stalk, resistance to lodging and compact type of plant. The results showed that combined treatment of γ-ray and soaking seed in solution of gibberellin effectively improved the rate of emergence of M0, extended the mutational spectrum and population, and increased the mutation frequency. Gibberellin can be used as a protective agent of radiation
