On certain techniques for internal dose evaluation

Creators

Description

Materials of the reports dedicated to procedural aspects for assessing internal radiation doses and radiation conditions in various industrial situations are analyzed. Analysis have been performed in three main directions: methods and characteristic features of direct and indirect dosimetry; procedures of microdosimetric control; methods and features for calculating intake and doses on the basis of the characteristics measured in the air medium. Studies on the air medium in the mining industry lead to a conclusion that a lognormal mathematical model may be used for analysis of the air medium at industrial premises by the characteristics of a radiation dust factor. Much attention is given to assessing the inhalation effects of the decay products of emanations in the production of rare-earth elements. Methods of determining microquantities of rare and rare-earth elements in biological materials are described
