Description
A new version of the 1985 videotape updated to include any changes in current policy is described. A 20 minute videotape dealing with the following points: 1) Forward planning and work/personnel registration; 2) Radiation hazards and principles of protection for sealed and unsealed sources; 3) Methods for prevention/containing contamination; 4) Entry and Exit procedures for the Radiochemical Laboratory; 5) Use of protective clothing; 6) Correct handling techniques (dispensing of radioactive liquid from a storage vial shown in detail); 7) Good ''housekeeping'' procedures and record-keeping as required by the Radiochemical Inspectorate; and 8) Monitoring of personnel/equipment. The programme gives a sound introduction to good working practice for small and medium-scale users of radioactive materials.
