Description
As a part of thermodynamic study of fuel and fission products of molten salt reactor (MSR), enthalpy increments of three rare earth fluorides; CeF3, PrF3 and NdF3 were measured by drop calorimetry (MHTC–96) up to 1200 K and heat capacities of these fluorides at constant pressure (cp) were calculated from these data which were found to be in good agreement with the values obtained from direct measurements (up to 723 K) using differential scan calorimetry (DSC–131).
