Living with the bomb. Nuclear weapons in Germany

This book deals with the atomic bombs in Germany, because no country was so much intended as a nuclear battlefield, none as full of nuclear warheads as the divided Germany during the Cold War. And the nightmare is not over: atomic bombs are still stored in the Eifel, German soldiers are still expected to drop them with their Tornado fighter bombers in case of war. In the tense world situation the spectre of nuclear deterrence returns. In Germany, the discovery of nuclear fission caused this development, German scientists began to make a bomb for Adolf Hitler, and German exiles made it in the USA. The stationing of nuclear weapons on German soil became one of the great conflicts of the post-war period. Even in the foreseeable future, Germany will continue to hold on to nuclear participation and the atomic bombs will be modernised.
