Air locks in containments of nuclear power plants - personnel locks

Description
Safety requirements concerning design, calculation, control, tests, operation and maintenance of personnel air locks are: 1) Avoiding the impermissible release of radioactive substances into the environment, also during air locks operation; 2) Ensuring escape from the containment and rescue operations inside the containment; 3) Avoiding uncontrolled access to containments by constructive and supplementary administrative measures. Sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen an die Konstruktion, Berechnung, Fertigung, Steuerung, Pruefungen, Betrieb und Wartung von Personalschleusen sind: 1) Verhinderung unzulaessiger Freisetzungen radioaktiver Stoffe in die Umgebung. Dies gilt auch bei Schleusvorgaengen; 2) Flucht- und Bergungsvorgaenge aus dem Reaktorsicherheitsbehaelter zu ermoeglichen; 3) Verhinderung unkontrollierten Betretens des Reaktorsicherheitbehaelters durch konstruktive und ergaenzende administrative Massnahmen.
