Mass of 31S

Description

A high-resolution study of the ³²S(p,d)³¹S reaction shows a discrepancy with the current table of mass values. The ³²S(p,d)³¹S reaction Q value is found to be - 12 817.8 ± 1.5 keV, 45.6 keV more positive than the published value, which carried an 11-keV uncertainty. Similar studies of the (p,d) reaction on ²³Na, ²⁷Al, ³³S, ³⁴S, ³⁵Cl, and ³⁷Cl indicate no discrepancies with the Q values (of 1- to 2-keV accuracy) tabulated for these nuclei.
