We survey recent work concerned with the exact solutions of both the real and complex Einstein equations completed by a collaborating group associated with the Centro de Investigacion y de Estudios Avanzados del IPN (CIEA). The paper includes discussions of solutions and symmetries for several real Petrov types and for complex H' and HH spaces. (author)
