Measurements of fast neutron spectra with thorium using KUCA
- 1. Tokai Univ., Tokyo (Japan). Faculty of Engineering
Description
Fast neutron spectra have been measured at the center of a central test-region of thorium-loaded cores of Kyoto University Critical Assembly (KUCA) by using hydrogen filled spherical proportional counters. The measured energy range covered the interval from about 50 keV to 1.2 MeV. For the energy range below 100 keV an electronic pulse-shape discrimination method was used. Measurements in the energy range above 100 keV were made without pulse-shape discrimination using three counters different gas pressures. (author)
