Unsteady hydrodynamic processes in current-carrier jets and the blanket-magnet liquid-metal circuit of a pulsed fusion reactor

Description

Hydrodynamic processes arising in current-carrier jets and liquid-metal circuit of a blanket-magnet intended for shielding of the first wall of a pulsed fusion reactor on relativistic electron beams (REB) and for ensuring REB transport onto a target along magnetic field force lines are considered. The blanket-magnet is formed by a series of uniformly distributed circularly bent liquid-metal jets along which currents having in neiborough jets different directions flow. Under the effect of current the jets are strained, various MHD-instabilities being possible. These factors determine limiting time of blanket-magnet existence as efficient liquid structure and therefore maximum duration of pulse power source
