Investigation into the minima of the iron neutron total cross section
Description
Pass of neutrons through thick samples under conditions of a ''good geometry'' is used to obtain a better energy resolution in the experiment on measuring the neutron total cross section for iron in its minima. For the first seven minima at 24, 81, 128, 136, 167, 183, and 220 keV energies the data obtained are respectively: 0.54+-0.03; 0.74+-0.06; 0.93+-0.08; 0.57+-0.03; 0.67+-0.05; 0.87+-0.06; and 0.54+-0.05 b
