Measurements of polarization of protons from the reaction γp→pπ 0 at theta/sub π/ = 1100 c.m. in the second and third resonance regions

Description
Results of measurement of proton polarization in the regions of the second and third maxima of the total cross section of the pγ→pπ 0 reaction are given. The measurements were carried out by means of a carbon polarimeter including wire spark chambers and a magnetic spectrometer. A resonance-like behavior of the polarization is manifested in the energy dependence. The results of the measurement are compared with phenomenological calculations
