Cyclic recrystallization of deformed austenitic steels

  • 1. Dnepropetrovskij Metallurgicheskij Inst. (Ukrainian SSR)

Description

The investigation of peculiarities of repeated recrystallization in tubes of 12Kh18N1OT, 12Kh18N12T, O8lh16N9M2, 1OKh17N13M2T austenitic stainless steels after different hot working and subsequent recrystallization annealing. Results of X-ray diffraction analysis and microhardness measurements testify to a defect density increase before repeated recrystallization. It is found that with an increase of annealing time the growth and the refinement processes repeat many times i.e. have a cyclic character. Durability and amplitudes of cycles are stated to depend on steel composition, deformation and subsequent heat treatment conditions
