Cyclotron scattering of radiation in plasma with strongly inhomogeneous magnetic field
Description
This paper deals with the transfer of cyclotron raiation in magnetized plasma in inhomogeneous magnetic field (if the inhomogeneity scale is myuch greater that the gyroresonant layer thickness) is derived. This limit is analogous to Sobolev's approximation in the theory of moving stellar envelopes. Detailed qualitive analysis of the solutions is made. The results are useful in the analysis of the observed spectra of neutron stars: gamma-burst sources and X-ray pulsars
